Dr. Essink grew up in the town of Columbus, Nebraska, where the strong sense
of community shaped much of her perspective on life. From an early age, she learned
the value of close-knit relationships and the importance of supporting those around her.
This foundation of community would go on to influence many aspects of her personal
and professional life.

Dr. Essink attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center for her medical degree.
She then pursued training at Children’s Medical Center for Pediatric Medicine. She finally
specialized in adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the University of Nebraska
Medical Center. Dr. Essink is double board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and
Immunology. She enjoys the complexity of adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology.
Over the years, her interest in this field has only deepened as she continues to learn and
grow in her profession, knowing that a deeper understanding of the immune system
helps people lead healthier lives.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Essink has a variety of interests that keep her busy. She
enjoys baking, running, and traveling each offering a different way to explore and engage
with the world around her. She also has a love for trying new foods and visiting local
restaurants, always on the lookout for unique culinary experiences. Her commitment to
supporting small businesses shines through in her habit of shopping local, appreciating
the character and quality that comes with it.

However, Dr. Essink’s most cherished role is that of a wife to her husband, Grant, and a
mother to their young son. Balancing her professional ambitions with the joys of family
life, she finds fulfillment in her role as a loving partner and dedicated mother, always
striving to create a nurturing and joyful home for her family.

Her life is a blend of passion for her work, love for her family, faith, and a dedication to
